Welcome to Workouts Without Weights, the #1 source for the most effective workouts without equipment.   Here you will not find information on clunky weight training equipment and workouts that require the use of them to get in shape.  Believe it or not, it is possible to build muscle without weights.  Building  a lean, muscular, toned body without the use of traditional strength training machines, dumbbells, and olympic weights and bars is what I’m all about.  Here at Workouts Without Weights I’ll go down the list of the known and unknown products on the market, and provide you with a concise, unbiased, honest review of each.  I will attempt to cover the more popular products in the eyes of most personal fitness trainers, but will mainly focus on the products that do the job and get you the results you’re looking for.  My job is not to mislead you on the products that are deemed ineffective in any way.

Don’t Depend on a Gym…

This site is for people who want to get in great shape without having to  join a health club, gym, or personal training studio.  Maybe your someone who doesn’t have the room to store dumbbells, weight equipment or bulky machines in the house.  Just maybe, you are someone who can not justify the cost of such equipment.  The way I look at it is, I want to provide you with options.  There are workouts on the market that are meant to be done in the comfort of your own home, that do not require the use of weights and machines.  There are also very effective products and equipment that can be put away in your drawer or closet when finished using.  All products reviewed by Workouts Without Weights can also be used at your gym if you are the type of person who prefers working out in a public setting.  Just because the workouts and products are meant for the use of your own body weight as resistance, doesn’t mean it can’t be done or used in your gym, or health club.  Believe me, when people start to see what you are doing or what you are using to get in shape, they will all want to jump on board.  One thing I would like to make clear is that some of the workout systems I reviewed can in fact be done with weights if you so choose, but the use of clunky, space eating equipment is not necessary.

Workouts Without Weights – P90x review


OK, sorry folks for taking so long to give you this workout without weights review on the P90x workout program.  As I’ve mentioned before, I will not review a product without trying it out for myself first.  It’s important to me that you all have a place you can go to that will give you the true low down on products, that way you don’t waste your hard earned money.  So here goes:

Let’s Get Started…

First off, you must know that results differ from person to person and depends on the sole effort put in by the individual themselves, but you already know that.  I started this program late April of this year and completed the whole 90 days which just recently ended.  Now, let me just start off by saying that I did not go into this program being out of shape like the many of the participants.  I am a trainer by trade, so I do keep myself pretty fit.  What I will say though, is that I did have some areas of concern.  Due to the fact I’m no longer under the age of 40, I did have some unwanted fat on my stomach and  low back region.  My inner thighs also did not have the tightness they once had in my younger years.  That being said, I had roughly 5% body fat I could use to lose.  I started with a body fat percentage of 15 and was looking to be under 10%.  If you know anything about losing fat, it’s much harder to lose it when you are starting off with a above average percentage to begin with.  So going from 15% to 10% may take a person longer than let’s say someone with 30% trying to get down to 20%.  You see, now you’re dealing with that evil foe “metabolism”.  Your metabolism will want to fight you the lower you go and often times wins.  This is why bodybuilders who are struggling to get down to 3-5% need the use of drugs to do so.

What The P90x Program Provides…

In taking on this program I took a workouts without weights approach in doing so.  I used only my own body weight, resistance bands and the perfect push-up handles, although you may use dumbbells if you desire.  The workout consists of 12 workouts on DVD, covering everything thing from strength training, to yoga, to cardio and stretching.  The strength training is broken up in body parts to give your body time to recuperate.  Along with the DVD’s there is a detailed fitness guide, a 3-phase nutrition guide, a calendar and tracking worksheets.  The P90x program covers it all because they want you to succeed.  If for some reason you have questions they offer a 24/7 online support along with a full 90 day money back guarantee.  Although the latter I did without because I knew I was going to follow it through to a tee.  I just knew that if I completed the program I was going to get results.  This is what I try telling my clients, “to see it through”.

What’s The Ruling On This One?

Drum roll please…  This program kicked my arse.  Well it did because I pushed myself really hard as I always strive to do.  My approach is, if you’re going to spend an hour exercising, why not go for it!  If you really think about it, it’s much, much harder to be overweight than it is to work and commit in losing the weight.  Think about that one.  You see, I was unhappy and self conscious about the little trouble areas I had, minute by minute, day after day, week after week, you know how this goes.  It was well worth the work I put in to make a change.

OK, OK I’ll tell you what I think of this product and the results I obtained.  As I mentioned before I started off at 15% body fat and wanted to get down to 10 or less.  Well I hit the mark with and overall percentage of 10.3%.  I was able to keep the muscle I already had and honestly I think they have a harder look to them.  My muscular endurance is far greater than it’s ever been including when I was in my twenties.  Best of all, for me, the back fat I had so much trouble getting rid of is now gone.  So I must say that I would have to give this P90x program a thumbs Up!  I promise, if you truly put effort into it and follow it, just for 3 months, it could change everything that is, YOU!  Don’t want to get all psychological about this, but come on peeps!  Just go for it.  This has been a workouts without weights review, I’m out, until next time.
